Allies in unlikely places. Amber Rose was vocal in her support for Kim Kardashian following the explosive controversy surrounding the reality star’s nude selfie, and the model explained why in an interview with ABC’s Nightline on Thursday, March 10.
“I thought she looked beautiful,” Rose, 29, told ABC’s Juju Chang. “I think she’s a great mom, and I’m gonna stick up for Kim. People think Kim and I are archenemies, and we’re really not. We literally text each other all the time. We’re very positive toward each other.”
Rose added that she had extra sympathy for Kardashian, 35, because she, too, is a mom of young kids. (The Selfish author is the mom of North, 2, and Saint, 3 months; Rose is the mom of 3-year-old Sebastian.)
“I know how hard it is to work out and try to get your body back but at the same time embracing the fact that your body does change as soon as you have a baby,” Rose continued.
Kardashian shared a nude selfie on Monday, March 7, with just two black bars covering up her private parts, setting social media ablaze, with everyone from Bette Midler to Miley Cyrus to Chloë Grace Moretz weighing in.

The hubbub surrounding the photo is proof that society still has a long way to go in terms of eliminating double-standards, Rose explained.
“If any sexy guy posted a nude picture with a little black strip over his private area, everybody would be like, ‘Damn, he’s hot, he’s sexy, look at that body,’” she argued. “‘Oh, he’s a dad too?’”
It’s exactly that attitude, Rose continued, that motivates her to continue her activist work to teach people that it’s not OK to body shame or slut shame anybody.
“I know what I’m talking about,” she said. “I know what I’m passionate about. But if I want to post a naked picture, or if I want to post a provocative picture, that’s exactly what I’m going to do, because I don’t have to make you happy. I make myself happy.”
