The Iowa Flood of 2008 gave birth to the phrase ‘Iowa’s Katrina.’ The floods emerged from rivers in Eastern Iowa and resulted in at least $6 billion worth of damage. Most of those affected were forced to evacuate from their homes. Taylor Swift contributed to relief efforts by donating a sum of $100,000 to add to relief efforts by the Red Cross.

Taylor Swift has made several donations to support education. Back in 2010, she provided $75,000 to aid in the renovation of Hendersonville High School in Nashville. She was smiling the whole time, even though she was a little nervous. Unfortunately, Laney passed away five days after Taylor’s call, with her final wish having been granted.

Swift has worked with a number of foundations to donate items for charity auctions, including the Elton John AIDS Foundation and Feeding America.
